Ab-Soul gives news of his album with a burning excerpt

Sharing is caring!

Herbert Anthony Stevens alias Ab-Soul is an American rapper signed to the independent label TDE since 2007. The album he has promised his fans for a few years is still in preparation and recently, he is giving news. Things seem to be moving very fast.

Ab-Soul’s album is 80% complete

Keeping up with Ab-Soul’s movements from their 2016 studio album titled “Do What Thou Wilt” is no easy task. For the most part, the Californian rapper has been one of TDE’s most elusive artists for the past five years. According to HipHopDX, the famous rapper alerted fans that his untitled fifth studio album was around 70% done in 2019. It wasn’t until two years later that Ab-Soul returned with a major update on the highly anticipated project .

This time around, he declares that the album is 80% complete. Yep, to the hilarity of some fans and the annoyance of others, the Control System and These Days artist has now revealed that his long-awaited album is officially 80% complete. This is perhaps done in an effort to reassure listeners that the album is well worth the wait.

However, this wait is getting long and if it took the artist two years to advance by 10%, we could well wait another four years before seeing the album reach 100% . However, the artist offered a small preview of his work.

Ab-Soul shares hot clip from album that is 80% finished

Probably in an attempt to reassure his community that he didn’t make them wait unnecessarily, Ab-Soul shared a scorching 42-second snippet on his Instagram story.

Dans cet extrait, il rappe, « Get up off my dick, let me talk my shit, let me show ’em how I feel for real/These n-ggas ain’t ill, they ain’t got no skill, they ain’t got no will for real/I was 10 and 2 on Cen-tral, trying to make my dream come true/Running from DeLamo trying to let y’all know just what we go through ».

« Stop going to church like what’s it all worth/What would Jesus do if he was in these shoes? If Johnny pull up I’m buck, I’m drunk, hair rest in the trunk, I was off that Jesus juice/Had the passion of Christ, I ain’t need a Jesus piece/Just needed the people to believe in me/I ain’t need an AP to put my city on the M-A-P/Was a fadeaway from banging that ECC/The OG told me stick to slinging those ABCs », continue Ab-Soul.

After listening to Ab-Soul’s flow, TDE artists including Zacari and Reason rushed into the comments below Tiffith’s Instagram post to applaud him. Zacari called him “Best Rapper Alive  ” and Reason crowned him as “  King Soulo  ”.
