Bobby Shmurda recently discussed how he made his dreams come true when he released his flagship track, “Hot N *** a,” in 2014. In a tweet posted on Saturday, Shmurda encouraged his fans to chase their dreams.
By sharing his experience, including betting on himself, paying for studio time, Bobby used this post to shed some light on the process by which he became a successful rapper. “Lots of people have a DREAM they never pursued, then go through life and are angry they never tried let me remind you ,” he introduced “ Hot N *** took $ 20 for a studio hour, the hood to create and this FOCUS hour changed my life and everyone around me FOREVER #shmurda.
Hot N *** peaked at No.6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her music video kicked off the viral Shmoney dance, propelling Shmurda’s success into mainstream audiences.
Later that year, however, Shmurda and several other members of GS9 were arrested. Shmurda ended up serving over six years in prison before being released from the Clinton Correctional Facility in February 2021. He started releasing music again last September with the release of No Time For Sleep (Freestyle) and recently revealed that a next album was almost finished.
