“CANDY SHOP” WASN’T ORIGINALLY FOR 50 CENT — IT WAS FOR ANOTHER RAPPER

Sharing is caring!

Producer Scott Storch was with NORE . and DJ EFN guested on the Drink Champs podcast where they spoke about 50 Cent ‘s megahit Candy Shop. He not only revealed that he didn’t produce the beat himself, but also that another artist should actually rap over it.

Scott Storch: “Candy Shop” beat wasn’t actually for 50 cents

Scott Storch shares how he worked with Fat Joe on the beat for ‘Candy Shop’. The Terror Squad rapper is said to have actively worked on the production.

Although he did not lend a hand himself, the melody of the intro came from him. Actually, Storch made the beat for Fat Joe. But he seems to have turned down the now legendary production , and so the song went to 50 Cent.

“I DID THE SONG FOR HIM [FAT JOE]. I DIDN’T DO THE SONG FOR 50 CENTS.”

With this, Scott Storch also clears up the rumors that Fat Joe has repeatedly spread that the New York rapper produced “Candy Shop”. Storch explains that you can hear “his language” quite clearly from the production. Nevertheless, Fat Joe deserved “writer credits” for his input.

The entire “Drink Champs” episode with Scott Storch is scheduled to air today at 5:00 p.m.:
