Casanova pleads not guilty in pending attempted murder case

Sharing is caring!

As of December 2020, New York rapper Casanova is one of 18 men, members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang indicted for serious crimes. The alleged crimes involving the defendants concern drug trafficking, financial fraud, and the murder of a 15-year-old teenager.

Casanova’s incarceration stems from an altercation Casanova and Jarrett Crisler had with a member of the Crips outside the King of Diamonds on October 24, 2020. The Crip took offense at the gang signs used by Cas and Crisler . After the situation escalated, Crisler allegedly pulled out his gun and shot the gang member and his associate.

According to the indictment, the rapper is accused of distributing drugs, including crack, cocaine and marijuana. The firearms count alleges that he and others possessed a firearm in a drug trafficking offense. The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to the United States attorney’s office.

In a recent Instagram statement, Casanova begs his followers to believe in his innocence

He wrote:  “This is a public service announcement for all of my very important fans and friends. I have been in jail for almost a year now, exhausted all legal remedies and spent a lot of money on legal fees to prove my innocence. The accusations against me are false, they do not represent or reflect who I am. They are simply using my criminal past to crucify me in court.

I’m the same individual who went to town hall and housing projects housing projects with @ericadamsfornyc to talk to kids, explain and explain to them that shootings and gun violence are not a way of life . I have visited shelters to feed people in need all over the world, including in Africa. I have visited shelters to feed people in need all over the world, including in Africa.

My good deeds are not mentioned or acknowledged. I appeal to all great people with meaningful and powerful voices to help me in this matter. Any help you give will be a blessing, because I think the past of a defeated person shouldn’t be the reason why you can’t be a successful future. No one should be held responsible for the crimes for which they have already served their sentence, in legal terms it is considered a double sentence. Last but not least Happy Birthday to me, set me free until they set me free, you all know the world out there isn’t the same without me. It’s not the same without me. “
