DaBaby would struggle to support organizations fighting against HIV / AIDS

Sharing is caring!

Following his homophobic and serophobic rant on stage at Rolling Loud last   July,  DaBaby  had promised to rectify the situation. He therefore had to walk the talk and had to meet nine organizations fighting against HIV / AIDS to apologize. The purpose of this meeting was to encourage the rapper to defend the plight of people affected by these diseases. A few months later, the rapper would not have visibly kept his word.

Many organizations talk about non-compliance with the roadmap

While  HIV / AIDS organizations  saw support and community engagement in DaBaby , DaBaby reportedly did not follow up or donate to the organizations he encountered after Rolling Loud’s negative comments. Indeed, three of the nine organizations, namely   the Positive  Women’s  Network, the Black  AIDS Institute  and the Normal  Anomaly  Initiative , all said that Baby had not made a donation or had not returned to the charge since their first encounters. , as he had expected.

For example, for Pavni Guharoy, a member of the Black AIDS Institute, the relationship should be a two-way street: “  It is now incumbent upon him, if he wishes to, to turn his false information into alliances by supporting the work of the Black AIDS Institute and of other HIV organizations led by people of color. ”  He said . According to the members of these organizations, the rapper was not that committed to these causes. ”

Back to the facts that angered many people

Last July, the rapper took to the Rolling Loud Miam stage on the Rolling Loud Miami stage where he let out of his mouth comments deemed hateful against the LGBTQ + community   and HIV / AIDS carriers. DaBaby had insinuated that they were unclean. “  If you haven’t presented today with HIV or AIDS or one of those deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will kill you in two or three weeks, then put on your cigarette lighter . “, Had suggested the rapper.

Subsequently, the rapper will return to his words, saying that his gay fans are exceptions. He said on this subject that “  My gay fans, they take care of them, they are not there for that… They are not junkies. I said if you don’t suck cock in the parking lot, turn on your cell phone. Do you know what my gay fans have been up to? They turned on that fucking light. My gay fans are not for that. They have class . “

Some time after the fact, celebrities like Demi Lovato, Dua Lipa and Elton John were horrified by the comments, quickly condemning Baby. The latter then apologized on Twitter: ”  Everyone who has been affected by AIDS / HIV has the right to be upset, what I said was callous, even though I had no intention of offending. anybody. So I apologize to the LGBT community… I’m not making fun of you, just do it. Your business is your business. I tell the fans to put a cell phone in the air and start a Million People March. I told you you digested this badly, but I’m not going to lie, I’m impressed. Now show the same amount of support when a racist cop kills one of our black asses…. Words had not convinced many people.

We hope that he will find favor with his fans, we invite you to stay connected on hip-hop corner so as not to miss his news.
