Diddy’s New Years Eve party canceled due to COVID

Sharing is caring!

The party Diddy originally planned for New Years Eve will no longer take place. According to TMZ, the rapper made the difficult decision to cancel his big party for the second year in a row.

A long tradition

The annual event has become an annual tradition in the celebrity ranks, bringing together hundreds of friends of the industry legend to step into the New Year in style.

The last edition dated back to 2019 and brought together celebrities like Winnie Harlow, Meek Mill, DaBaby, Fat Joe and DJ Khaled, who rocked the dance floor without suspecting a single second of what was to come soon after with the arrival of the pandemic.

In 2020, Diddy was forced to cancel the event due to a lack of vaccinations, but this time around it was the growing number of infected people that ruined his evening. There are rumors that 500 guests are expected to attend the party in Miami this year, but given that Florida recorded a record 32,850 COVID cases on Saturday due to the Omicron variant currently prevailing, it can be said that the decision by cancel was judicious.

Other celebrities have lowered their ambitions.

Diddy isn’t the only celebrity who has had to cut back on vacation plans – the Kardashians have also had to cut back on their annual Christmas party this year, limiting it to family members and a few close friends. Kim, Kris and Khloé gathered with the kids to pose on a cute greeting card, but fans couldn’t help but notice that Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie were missing.

On top of that, Kanye West was also overlooked in this year’s pic, though he regularly reminds his wife that he absolutely wants to be reconciled with her. So much so that he has just bought a house down the rue de la mondaine.
