Grammy Award 2022: Top 5 nominees in the category of best melodic rap performance

The nominees for the 64 th edition of the Grammy Awards are officially known in the evening of Tuesday, November 23, 2021. 1- ”  Pride. is. Devil  ”—J. Cole featuring Lil Baby

The track Pride Is Devil was released on May 14, 2021 and featured on J. Cole’s sixth studio album called “  The Off-Season” . It marks the first collaboration between Cole and Lil Baby after they appeared together in 2019 for the Dreamville recording sessions .

Much loved in its first week of release, the song debuted at No. 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 . With three other tracks from the album in this ranking, American rapper Cole became the third artist to debut four songs in the Top 10. A big commercial performance that well deserves a 2022 Grammy nomination after the votes in the first round.

2- “  Need To Know  ” – Doja Cat

Taken from Doja Cat’s ” Planet Her  ” album  , this track was first released on June 11, 2021 as a promotional single. Then, it will be sent to American radios in August 2021 as the third track of the album.

3- “  Industry Baby  ” —Lil Nas X featuring Jack Harlow

Industry Baby  is the eponymous track from the debut album by American artist Lil Nas X , entitled ”  MONTERO  “. Released last July, the track broke all records and climbed all the charts. Concretely, he has already spent eight weeks at the top of the ranking of the most popular rap singles across the Atlantic. More played on American radios, this song took first place this week in the ranking of all genres.

Released on June 22, 2021, Wusyaname is the second single from Tyler The Creator’s sixth studio album, dubbed “  Call Me If You Get Lost  ”. On this track, the popular album, the American rapper unleashes a big performance alongside rapper YoungBoy NBA and singer Ty Dolla Sign. In the United States, the single has already achieved gold certification with more than 500,000 cumulative sales. Recall also in its infancy, this song was ranked at the 14 th spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the most popular title of “  Call Me If You Get Lost  .”

5- “  Hurricane  ” —Kanye West featuring The Weeknd & Lil Baby

The top 5 nominees for the Grammy Award 2022 in the category best melodic rap performance, ends with the title “  Hurricane  ”. Taken from Kanye West’s latest studio album, this track is produced in collaboration with The Weeknd and Lil Baby.
