Ice-T thinks that being a rapper is the “most dangerous job”

The rapping community has continued to express their condolences to those close to Young Dolph, the rapper who was shot and killed in his hometown of Memphis earlier this week. In the aftermath of this tragedy, some rap OGs have spoken of the dangers to their careers, and Ice-T echoes that sentiment.

“ Sad truth: When I was young, being a drug dealer was the most dangerous job. Now it seems like being a rapper is. Smh. No cap, ” the rapper reportedly said in an already deleted tweet. He later reposted a clip of Boosie Badazz saying ”  rappers are dying in their own town”.

“ It’s a fact,” Boosie added in the video. “ You have haters that were in school with you and they did because they were in that third grade class with you, but they don’t have the same hustle as you. They hate you for no reason. They hate you for your success. If you were a local rapper and didn’t have much, they would love you. ”

The murder of Young Dolph prompted the public to rise up against violence in their communities. Political leaders feared retaliation against Dolph’s former enemies Yo Gotti and Blac Youngsta , even calling for a curfew in the city. However, no action has been taken against Gotti or Youngsta, but the very idea that it could escalate is something veterans know all too well.
