Jaden Smith reveals the inspiration for his next album, revisiting Icon’s filming site

Jaden Smith is no longer known solely as the son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. The young prodigy has excelled in the world of comedy, philanthropy, design as well as in that of music.

While in Malibu to support Tyler The Creator’s new wave of Golf le Fleur products , Jaden Smith spoke to HipHopDX about how the place induces ultra-nostalgia, considering it was the same place where he had made the video for his song Icon , which consolidated his career in 2017.

“This is where I shot the ‘Icon’ video ,  the visionary from MSFTSrep recalled, pointing to the bushes and scenic landscapes nearby. “  I parked the Tesla… I had a camera crew and I told them the shots I wanted to make and it happened like that and that’s it,” Jaden Smith tells HipHopDX.

Released as the final single from his 2017 debut album, Syre , Icon became Jaden Smith’s greatest solo record to date, netting a double platinum plaque from the Recording Industry Association Of America (RIAA) in the process. The accompanying music video has surpassed 165 million views on YouTube and was parodied by his father who added bars to the remix, making the track even more famous, to the point of garnering a Grammy Award,

When asked if it is possible to create a more hip-hop-focused project in the near future, Jaden revealed that he actively seeks out sources of creativity, even though he is already in that dynamic. . “I’ll just work on stuff and go on tour and hopefully the inspiration for my next project will come to me,” admitted the actor was 23 years.
