Jay-Z: FBI asks rapper to delete emails, warns him of ‘imminent hacking’

Sharing is caring!

Jay-Z is one of the most legendary rappers in the hip-hop world and there are many factors that make him one of the best of all time. In addition to his musical prowess, Hov is also a savvy businessman and is worth over $ 1 billion . Recently, a story of email hacking has emerged threatening the peace of mind of the American star.

A deletion of emails from the star is required

On the track “  Streets Is Watching  ” from 1997, Jay-Z said: “  When the streets watch, the blocks keep timing // waiting for you to crack, for you to make your first mistake // you can’t ignore it , this is the fastest way to get you extorted // but my time is money, at twenty-five, I can’t afford it “. Twenty-four years later, the streets are still awake, but the situation is a little different in 2021.

Indeed, ”  Jay-Z was urged by federal authorities to delete his emails due to hacking issues,  ” a source told Complex last Wednesday. According to the source in question, the FBI contacted Jay-Z during the week to inform him of the impending hack of his email account . As a precaution, the FBI advised the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella to delete his emails , according to the source. Additional details regarding the hack were not made public by federal authorities. This case comes as a lawsuit has been brought against the artist and entrepreneur by Parlux Fragrances.

The reasons for the trial which would have given rise to the “imminent piracy”

Jay appeared in court in October in Rolling Stone’s breach of contract lawsuit . During his second day of testifying in the case, Jay slammed Parlux over his promotional methods, at one point mentioning the “shitty” work he said the brand was doing. “  I’ve always had issues with the quality of the lazy work that came from Parlux, ” he told an attorney for the brand, according to the New York Daily News. Parlux, meanwhile, argued that the 23 Grammy winner failed to live up to his end of the promotional contract deals.

Last month Jay-Z was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in a ceremony that resulted in tribute messages from Dave Chappelle and former Barack Obama. ”  Today Jay-Z is one of the most famous artists in history and the embodiment of the American dream, a dream he helped make real for other young people like him,” said Obama in a video broadcast during the ceremony .
