If there is one name that we no longer need to present in the music industry, it is Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper has been multiplying hits and performances for a few years. Moreover, these last two years she has to her credit a good number of performances during award ceremonies.

Unfortunately, Megan was unable to attend the American Music Awards (AMA) . On November 20, the Houston rapper announced that she canceled her scheduled performance with popular K-Pop group BTS at the event. Together, they were to perform the song “Butter (Remix)”, released last August and which quickly became No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“  Hotties, I couldn’t wait to go to @AMAs and perform with @BTS_official,  ” she tweeted. “  But due to an unforeseen personal problem, I can no longer attend. I’m so sad ! I can’t wait to get on stage with my guys and play BTS_Butter very soon,  ”she adds.

AMA officials have confirmed that despite the absence of the Grammy Award winner, BTS will still perform “Butter” and a second song at the ceremony. In addition, Megan is nominated for three awards at the 2021 AMAs namely: Favorite hip-hop album with “Good News”, Favorite trending song with her single “Body” and the award for favorite female hip-hop artist. .

The ceremony which took place on Sunday evening was hosted by Cardi B and broadcast on ABC. Cardi’s role at the AMAs marks a historic moment for her as she becomes the second rapper to perform the ceremony and the first since Queen Latifah in 1995.
