Moneybag Yo released their latest album A Gangsta’s Pain in April, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. A deluxe version arrived in October with seven new tracks and starring from Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Lil Durk , Ashanti, Yung Bleu and EST Gee.

Through these accomplishments, Moneybagg Yo has become one of many Memphis rappers to carry the banner of the city’s hip-hop scene alongside Yo Gotti, Pooh Shiesty, Blac Youngsta, Key Glock and the late Young Dolph.

The Gangsta’s Pain rapper now appears in Nike’s new NBA commercial alongside Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, with the two joining fans in preaching that nothing is impossible for the city of Memphis: “Challenge expectations like @JaMorant and the city of Memphis, ” Nike Basketball wrote in a post shared by Nike Basketball: “ Whether you want to lead your team to victory or put your city on the map, bring your vision to life by dedicating yourself to what drives you and ignoring those who don’t understand. “

Ja Morant and Moneybagg Yo are close friends and took part in an interview for Billboard together in August, where they opened up about their intention to proudly represent Memphis.

“I feel like for me it’s just about getting the guys back to where they were when Z-Bo and those were playing, trying to win a championship,” said the NBA star. “I like having this weight on my shoulders, this pressure. I feel like this is where I am the best. I just work, man, for the city of Memphis. This is what we want. “

Moneybagg Yo added, “I have a lot of responsibilities. It’s Memphis, without a doubt, you know, I put on a show for the city. But it’s like I have real personal responsibilities. I have children, single mothers, people who have been with me since day one. When I started I was doing it for them, but now it’s like I have a big influence, I’m a real role model, so I’m doing it for the city of Memphis and I’m doing it for the world now. I like having it on my back. Me and Ja do this together, there’s sport and hip-hop, there’s entertainment. On both sides you can’t stop us, we are at the top . “
