Rapper, screenwriter, actor, presenter, music producer and executive producer of American films, 41-year-old Nick Cannon is going through a moment of pain over the loss of his youngest child Zen. The baby’s parents refused to allow the baby to undergo chemotherapy to fight his cancer. The artist gives the reasons for this in a discussion with PEOPLE, the weekly American magazine.

He refuses to see his baby in pain

Asked by PEOPLE about the reasons that prompted him to give up chemotherapy for his Zen baby lost at the age of 5 months, Nick replied the following: “We could have had this existence where he should have lived at the hospital, hooked up to machines, for the rest of the time. I have been through chemotherapy before and know this pain. I didn’t want that to happen to a two month old baby. I didn’t want him to suffer ” .

Nick and Scott decide to give Zen the best moments before he leaves

The Monster House voice actor explains how he and his wife Alyssa Scott had to deal with this tragedy related to the state of health of their 2 month old newborn baby, Zen. “We started to wonder if there was a way to avoid this. If not, how much time do we have left?  He remembers. “The conversations quickly turned to ‘How can we give him the best possible life in the time that he has left?’ It could be weeks, months, years, ” he explained. The San Diego star had already undergone chemo herself as he recalled. It should indeed treat Lupus, an autoimmune disease. So he knew everything about such therapy and did not take a good look at his son connected to all these machines.

So, after the diagnoses, aware that their baby had very little time left to live, Scott and Nick decide to give him a very good time. “Determined to create moments of joy every day” for our baby, we focused on Disneyland, our favorite place, “ shared the father of seven. “Every month we celebrated his birthday, really seeing it as a victory every time he took a milestone that he was still there with us.” Nick hinted with emotion.

Even though the last few days with Zen were days of joy, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ host  admits he could feel his son’s struggles . “He was having trouble breathing. We would wake up, and he wouldn’t breathe for five to ten seconds, and then he let out a huge breath. We could see that it frightened him. It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced, ” said Nick Cannon. It is for good reason that the artist will get a huge tattoo in honor of his son after his death.
