Yesterday evening, many colleagues and friends of Virgil Abloh gathered to attend the parade of his latest collection . After his passing on Sunday, November 28, some of the rap industry’s most prominent and influential artists all indicated that Abloh was a great inspiration to them . Many of these peers therefore returned the device to Virgil by attending the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 “ Virgil Was Here  ” fashion show  in Miami.

Louis Vuitton’s men’s fashion show at Marine Stadium in Virginia Key has turned into a magnificent memorial in which great figures of American music paraded. Indeed, two thirds of Migos, Quavo and Offset, performed during the show as models, with Kid Cudi and many others. The first mentioned sported a glittering silver jacket and pants and covered his face with a black and white checkered mask. He also carried with him a voluminous silver chest in his hand as he strutted down the track.

Offset’s outfit, meanwhile, was regal, as he wore a blue / indigo-colored tracksuit and top hat over a black turtleneck and shiny chains. Also carrying an even larger chest in his hand, Offset had stylish sunglasses on which he added to a calm demeanor as he walked down the stage.

Incidentally, of the three, Kid Cudi’s look was the most vibrant, as he was drenched in lime green from head to toe. His head, shaved in green color, matched his fluffy sweater which was two different shades of green. His loose, bright green pants floated on the runway. It was an exceptional moment for Cudi, as one of his first experiences on a catwalk was Virgil’s first Louis Vuitton 2018 fashion show . Note that the latter had always found a way to incorporate his friends from the industry into his projects.

After the showcase, Kid Cudi gave a short performance, singing ”  Moon  ” from Kanye West’s recent album Donda. The evening was a resounding success, with many of Virgil’s dearest friends coming to support his life’s work following his tragic passing .

What are the causes of the death of Virgil Abloh?

Virgil Abloh, artistic director of the Louis Vuitton men’s collection and CEO of Off-White, has died at age 41 after a private, multi-year battle with ”  an aggressive and rare form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma.” “ The news comes from a statement posted on Instagram page native of Illinois Sunday, November 28.

”  We are devastated to announce the passing of our beloved Virgil Abloh, a fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend ,” it read. Virgil leaves behind his wife, Shannon Abloh, two children, Lowe and Gray Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, and his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh, as well as countless friends and colleagues.

The statement also reveals that the designer has chosen to endure his battle in private since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing many difficult treatments, while also leading several important institutions that span fashion, art and culture. Virgil was animated for his dedication to his craft and his mission to open doors for others and to create pathways for greater equality in art and design.

A particularly poignant part of the memorial reads: “  He would often say, ‘Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself,’ deeply believing in the power of art to inspire future generations. ”

Louis Vuitton and Bernard Arnault have also issued statements following this tragic news. “  Virgil was not only a genius designer and a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom. The LVMH family joins me at this time of great sorrow and we all think of their loved ones on the occasion of the death of their husband, father, brother, son and friend, ”said the CEO.
