While his latest album continues to be a hit, Kendrick Lamar is going to Ghana for the first time. Spotify follows him in this trip to make a mini documentary, an extract of which was unveiled this morning.
What is Kendrick Lamar doing in Ghana?
Kendrick Lamar is currently in sight with his double album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” after five years of absence. This disc received a good welcome and a lot of praise. However, there are criticisms due to Kodak ‘s appearance on some titles. This approach of the rapper is to support the fight against homophobia and transphobia. While this debate is taking place, Spotify is following the rapper on his first trip to Accra, Ghana to produce a mini documentary.
A short 15 second video was posted a few days ago by Spotify on Twitter . We see a bus in the streets of Accra with the mention “oklama Presents… The Big Steppers”. The introductory sound of the title “We Cry Together” was also playing . We see the rapper there who declares: “First time in Ghana. I couldn’t even tell you what day it is. I’m just in the moment. This shit of life is an experience and everyone experiences it, but differently”.
Separately, a short film of “ We Cry Together” begins this week in Los Angeles with Taylour Paige. We hope for its release very soon.
