A path cut into the heart of violence.

Born in Chicago and raised by his grandmother in Memphis, Young Dolph, as the older brother of his siblings, learned to be self-sufficient at an early age. Her parents were addicted to crack cocaine, and her options for making money in a neighborhood plagued by violence and poverty are limited to “scam.”

He started freestyling with his friends as a teenager, and started releasing mixtapes in 2008. “It could be at a spot, it could be in the trap, it could be in the car driving – we kidding, that’s all, ” he told The Guardian. He has built a reputation as a confident rapper hungry for success; as he recounts on  In My System , from the Rich Crack Baby mixtape from 2017 .

Dolph, who has 4.4 million Instagram followers, released his debut studio album King of Memphis in 2016. The album peaked at No. 49 on the Billboard 200 chart. Young Dolph followed up with his album Rich Slave, including the single RNB with Megan Thee Stallion, in August 2020. He leaves behind a son and a daughter.
